We tend to think of them in modern ages, how old people are in modern times, when then become important.I am hearing more and more, how young students are no longer being taught to write. They just learn to print. How are these students going to do research, by studying original papers, that are written, when they only know printing? When I was in university, people doing research for degrees higher than Bachelors, had to study foreign languages, so they could do research in the original language.Has this fallen by the wayside too with the advent of Google translate?Denisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15096299164024429829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3264965526853735683.post-84427937905392142642015-07-25T16:11:24.114+01:002015-07-25T16:11:24.114+01:00Very interesting piece. It just goes to show how important it is to research thoroughly - otherwise we can all too easily fall into the trap of making assumptions.Deirdre O'Mahonynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3264965526853735683.post-34155852038699754292015-07-25T12:13:29.054+01:002015-07-25T12:13:29.054+01:00Such an interesting piece, Wendy. In society, today, it's a given that if you can read, then you can also write. We take so much for granted today. Hats off to you Wendy, your research has revealed much.Louiseruleauthorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03662370428583932577noreply@blogger.com
